Moulded glass for lighting, Pressed glass for lighting

Glass is obtained through synthesis, by melting 10-12 components at a temperature of approx. 1500 °C. The quality of our glass is guaranteed by a production process certified to ISO 9000. The integrity and transparency of the glass depends on the use of pure, carefully selected raw materials, the exact dosage of these and constant monitoring of the continuous melting process. The SEVES Special Glass Division processes two different glass compositions: soda-lime glass and borosilicate glass.

The molten glass then undergoes two completely separate automated processes: pressing (using a mechanical press) and blowing. These processes are flexible and can be adapted according to production volume and batch size. SEVES Lighting uses semi and fully-automated production cycles to manufacture batches of 100 to 100,000 pressed glass items weighing between 100 g and 15 kg per piece.

Once the required shape has been obtained, the glass is annealed. Annealing consists of cooling the glass down from the moulding temperature (approx. 1200 °C) to ambient temperature. This is done gradually to prevent any internal stress and the possibility of cracking. SEVES Lighting inspects every item that is produced to guarantee the highest quality standards.
